Helping Hands for the Holidays: food sort puts meals on tables

Today, community members will lend a hand to help put food on the table for the holidays. Volunteers will be sorting food donations from North York Harvest Food Bank’s Winter Food Drive. Local politicians, Mark Adler MP for York Centre, and the Honourable Joe Oliver MP for Eglinton-Lawrence, will be joining in.

With a goal of 200,000 lbs of food and $200,000 in funds, this is North York Harvest’s largest annual effort to raise essential food and funds for families and individuals in northern Toronto. We are mid-way through the drive, and at 35% of our target amount. The next few weeks are crucial to collecting the nourishing food needed for the winter months.

Please note we are at capacity for volunteers for this event. For other and upcoming opportunities, visit our Donate Time page.

Another vital way to lend a hand is to donate food and funds to the Drive!
