Winter Food Drive kicks off today!
Our Winter Food Drive kicks off today with a launch event at Jack Astor's at the Shops at Don Mills from 10am to 1pm. The local Starbucks will also be on-hand with free samples for visitors.
The drive is North York Harvest's largest annual effort to raise essential food and funds for families and individuals in northern Toronto. With the recent spike in unemployment and continuing global economic uncertainty, we are calling upon the community to help make a difference.
This season, our goal is to collect 200,000 lbs of healthy, nutritious and culturally appropriate food and $200,000 to help support our programs and services.
Financial contributions can be made online through CanadaHelps.org or by phone with a credit card by calling 416-635-7771. Cheques can be mailed to: North York Harvest Food Bank, 640 Lawrence Ave West, Toronto, ON M6A 1B1.
Nutritious, non-perishable food items can be dropped off at local fire halls in northern Toronto and participating supermarkets. North York Harvest encourages donors to give food items that they would ordinarily use in their own kitchens. For more food ideas, please refer to our list of suggested food donations.
